A quality Timber Floor system for your Garden Shed, is an economical alternative to concrete slabs. Timber floors a great option for when cold damp concrete just won’t do. A timber shed floor from Garden Sheds Galore is a functional and cost effective alternative to traditional concrete slabs. Our timber floors are constructed from yellow tongue flooring (insect and moisture resistant), with 70 x 45mm treated pine frame and joists, and is designed to sit straight onto level ground, although a crushed rock, or equivalent, base is recommended. Shed floors are constructed from 70mm x 45mm treated pine timber, to form a floor frame, which is set with joists at 450 to 500mm centres.
Yellow Tongue flooring, is fixed to the frame and joists. The Yellow Tongue is cut, to form a rebate, allowing the shed walls to sit on (and be anchored to), the floor frame and the yellow tongue flooring sits inside the shed walls. The yellow tongue flooring when fixed to the frame and joists sits 70mm off the ground, allowing air to circulate and keep the flooring nice and dry. Once the timber floor is constructed, your shed can assembled and secured to the frame to form a flush and level floor surface.
